The Dwell Magazine

Lets not forget there is something of a Dwell style and it can be seen mirrored in the famous Dwell Magazine.

Seen here is one of their featured products from the Componibili Bedroom Furniture Range, from the Dwell magazine Website:-

In production for nearly thirty years, the Componibili is an iconic piece of plastic modular furniture that is counted among MoMA's permanent collection of furnishings. Available in various sizes, it is designed to be stacked or grouped together via a tongue-and-groove system, enabling a variety of configurations.

Sadly another bad review

Mmm this blog isn't looking too good another bad review from a consumer.

Review Link

This time it's for dwell bedside units, the content isn't great:-

dwell have taken two rogue payments from my credit card £676.30 after 3 weeks now of being fobbed off. Waiting on calls not being returned. Its now in the hands of the FSA. This is theft , quick to take your money ,but not so quick to return it. salesperson was george , so beware, then jamie, then faz he called back to say he sorted it, they had all sorted nothing, disgusted by the treatment, no response to emails they are a joke.
In fairness this time of year towards Christmas the furniture industry is busy, I'm sure the customer will get sorted out soon. You have to remember when you deal with that many customers someone somewhere is going to have a bad thing to thing. Age old saying of you can please some of the people some of the time but you can't please all of the people all of the time.

We'll definitely be posting something positive soon I'm sure!

Dwell to buy Habitat?

Not sure how newsworthy this is but Retail Week are reporting that Dwell could be making a move for Habitat! Here is the headline:-
Mid-market furniture retailer Dwell has made Neil McCausland chairman and is considering bidding for all or parts of Habitat if it is put up for sale by Ikea owner ICAF Antillen.

Dwell Furniture Reviews

Any furniture is prone to get bad press and if you do a search for Dwell Furniture reviews you do come up with some bad ones.

One such review can be found here.

Basically it's not great and here is a snippet:-

Good Points

Wide range and good quality "looking" furniture. Not the looking, that's a back handed compliment!

Bad Points

Bad catalogue and colour description. Long turn around time for customer service.

General Comments

The Sales staff and customer service a bit unresponsive on the phone. They say everything will take 72 hours, which is quite a long time if you have a big furniture box sitting in your lounge room. I simply could not get a decision on them about pickups and whether they will refund you in full if the product is not what you expected.

Experience was as follows, bought chairs at store after really nice sales rep showed on the screen that chair was cream and the one in store was "taupe". The description was "cream" on the catalogue. Chair came and was brownish green even though the box said it was "natural".

They then argued that it was in fact cream and that since the product code was as cream, the product had to be cream. I think not. Took pictures and had more arguments with them about the colour given everything in the lounge room was beige and creame, being brownish green was quite weird. I think we would know what cream is supposed to look like.

Then came arguments how whether Dwell would then charge me £30 for pickup of something that was so obviously not quite right. Refund is not done yet. Not happy and would not recommend to anyone.

Ok so it's not a good start but we'll be looking at the positive side of Dwell Furniture soon!
